Patient Participation Group

What is the Patient Participation Group?

The purpose of our Patient Participation Group (PPG) is to ensure that the patient voice is represented in the planning and development of local healthcare provision.

Our PPG provides an important link between the practice and our 16,500 patients. It provides a forum for constructive discussion in areas such as health promotion and education, and advances dialogue on improvements in the level and quality of our local primary care services.

St Mary’s PPG also helps to provide patient feedback to the practice, usually through its meetings and email contact.

How can you get involved?

By joining our PPG you can become actively involved in local health issues. You’ll work alongside St Mary’s Surgery and use your voice to bring very real benefits to patients, their families and their carers.

The PPG is made up of patients and non-medical staff from the surgery. It meets at the surgery about four times a year.

If you’d like to find out more, please contact Heather Maunders.

If you are unable to commit the time to joining our PPG, but have any comments or suggestions that might support ongoing development of healthcare provision in this area, then we’d love to hear from you too.

You can find out more about the contribution that patient participation makes to Primary Care at a national level here.
