Clinical Team

We are looking to recruit an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Practitioner, Paramedic or Nurse Practitioner with a prescribing qualification, who can help us to continue to provide excellent care to our patients.

We have two positions available due to retirement and relocation.

Full or part time hours and flexibility considered for the right candidate.

You will be an integral member of the duty team, working alongside the duty GP and triage nurses to run the acute service. This will involve a combination of triage, face to face and home visits.

About the candidate

Ideally, the successful candidate will have:

• Non-medical prescriber qualifications

• Experience of working autonomously and being flexible with daily demands

• Be experienced with demonstrating critical thinking within a safe clinical decision-making process

• Ability to carry out clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care.

• Ability to carry out home visits to housebound patients and those in care homes.

Other desirable criteria:

• Advanced Nurse Practitioner Qualification, ideally at a Masters level.

• Being prepared to complete the necessary portfolio for the accreditation process, when this becomes a criteria to call yourself an Advance Clinical/Nurse Practitioner.

About us

St Mary’s Ely is a thriving GP-led practice situated at the heart of Ely in Cambridgeshire. We provide comprehensive NHS healthcare services to over 16,000 patients in Ely and surrounding villages.

We are a team of 5 partners, 7 salaried GPs, 1 clinical nurse manager, 10 practice nurses, and 7 healthcare assistants along with an experienced Practice and Assistant Practice Manager, IT Manager and excellent dispensary, referrals and patient services teams, who recognise the pressures of the clinical team and work hard to support them.

St Mary’s Surgery is approved for GP registrar training and undergraduate training and we are a research active practice.

Our clinical team is currently situated in temporary accommodation at the Princess of Wales Hospital site in Ely, while a major building project is being undertaken to our premises in central Ely. We hope to be moving back into our fully refurbished building by mid November 2022.

We are very fortunate to have PCN staff working with us and these include a physio, a clinical pharmacist, medical technician, social prescriber, a health and wellbeing coach and a drug and alcohol support worker.

It is important to us as a practice that we work in a supportive environment, where we balance the need of providing excellence in patient care with the wellbeing of our team.
