About us
St Mary’s Ely is a thriving GP-led practice situated at the heart of Ely in Cambridgeshire. We provide comprehensive NHS healthcare services to over 16,400 patients in Ely and surrounding villages.
We are a team of 5 partners, 5 salaried GPs, 1 advanced nurse practitioner, 1 advanced clinical practitioner, 1 clinical nurse manager, 10 practice nurses, and 8 healthcare assistants along with an experienced Practice and Assistant Practice Manager, IT Manager and excellent dispensary, referrals and patient services teams, who recognise the pressures of the clinical team and work hard to support them.
St Mary’s Surgery is approved for GP registrar training and undergraduate training and we are a research active practice.
Our clinical team is currently situated in temporary accommodation at the Princess of Wales Hospital site in Ely, while a major building project is being undertaken to our premises in central Ely. We hope to be moving back into our fully refurbished building by March 2023.
We are very fortunate to have PCN staff working with us and these include a physio, clinical pharmacists, medical technician, social prescriber, health and wellbeing coaches, a care home co-ordinator and a drug and alcohol support worker.
It is important to us as a practice that we work in a supportive environment, where we balance the need of providing excellence in patient care with the wellbeing of our team.
