Text messages / NHS App

Posted on:

The way we send text messages to our patients has changed recently and as a result, the messages you receive may look a little different.  Patients who use the NHS App may receive messages within the app.  But don’t worry, if you don’t use the NHS App you will automatically be sent the same information as a text message.

We use a number of different IT systems within the surgery, so text messages from us will be in one of the two formats below.

Non-urgent advice:

We use text messages to pass on information to our patients, but may also occasionally send brief questionnaires to help us keep your medical records up to date.

If you have a face to face appointment booked, you will receive a reminder 1 week before the appointment and another reminder the day before.  If you are unable to attend please cancel the appointment as soon as possible by following the instructions in the message as this allows us to then offer the appointment to another patient.

If you don’t already receive text messages from us and would like to, please complete the “change of details” form on Ask My GP and we will update your record.
