Update on COVID-19 vaccinations from St Mary’s Surgery
We want to give you an update on the vaccine roll out for Ely and Littleport area.
As you may have seen in the local news, St Mary’s Surgery was one of the participating GP practices involved in the very first wave of 975 Pfizer vaccines for our most vulnerable patients.
These vaccines were given to people from the first priority group from 15-17 December at Cathedral Medical Centre.
All the vaccine timeslots were taken up and used and these patients will return for their second jabs early in January. A week later, they should all be fully protected.
We are expecting the next delivery of vaccines around mid-January. We are still working through the first priority group – the over 80s – and we will contact all those who are eligible via text messages or phone once we have confirmation from NHS England on delivery dates and how to book an appointment.
Please DO NOT ring the surgery; staff will contact you when it is your turn for the vaccine. Read more about why you are being asked to wait here.
The second round of vaccinations will also take place at Cathedral Medical Centre in accordance with strict Department of Health guidelines, so we are currently unable to do home visits or even give vaccines here at St Mary’s.
However, please be reassured. Everyone who is eligible WILL be offered a vaccination at the earliest opportunity.
