Flu
Flu isn’t something that most people will be thinking of during the summer, but at the surgery, lots of work has already gone on behind the scenes to prepare for our very popular flu vaccination clinics.
The clinics will be held on 5th, 6th, 12th, 13th, 19th and 20th October between 8:00am and 1:45pm, and will allow us to vaccinate and help protect in the region of 600 patients a day. The vaccine helps protect against flu, which can be a serious or life-threatening illness. It’s offered every year to people at higher risk of getting seriously ill from flu. More information is available on the NHS Website
If you are eligible but unable to attend one of our weekend clinics, we will be running some small clinics during the week too, but numbers are limited so please try to attend a weekend clinic if you can.
We are aware flu vaccinations are available elsewhere, but we would like to ask you to support your NHS and General Practice and have your vaccination at the surgery. This ensures your records remain complete and also allows us to undertake or recommend any other relevant health checks.
Patients who are eligible for a flu vaccination and have consented to receive text messages from us, will receive a booking link allowing them to book into a clinic of their choice. These messages will be sent during August. Please note that when booking your appointment you will need to amend the date range to see the clinics that are running during October.
For patients who don’t currently receive text messages from the surgery, appointments can be made via Ask My GP by selecting the “Vaccination” option when making a new request. Alternatively patients can call Reception on 01353 663434 after 10.30am.
