The government has made new announcements about COVID vaccine boosters for different age groups.

From 16 February, children aged 5-11 who are most at risk of COVID-19, were offered a first dose of vaccine. Eligible children include those with diabetes, immunosuppression, learning disabilities, and other conditions as outlined by the UK Health Security Agency in the Green Book.

The surgery is currently holding clinics for children in this age group. If your child is part of this cohort, we will be in touch with you.

On 21 February, it was announced that additional booster vaccinations will be offered to those aged over 75, older adults in care homes and to those aged over 12 years who are immunosuppressed.

Please be aware that we are awaiting guidance on how this booster vaccination – expected in springtime – is to be managed. We will announce full details as soon as we are able.
