COV-Boost vaccine clinical trial

A new COVID vaccine booster study, led by University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust, is looking for volunteers.

The trial will study the use of a new COVID-19 vaccine, made by Moderna and designed against the Omicron variant, when given as a fourth dose booster. It will take place at sites all across the UK, including Cambridgeshire.

The study will evaluate the safety and side effect profile of a fourth dose booster of this Moderna vaccine compared to a fourth dose booster of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, as well as assessing its impact on the immune response to different variants of COVID-19, including the Omicron and Delta variants.

To be eligible to take part:

  • you must be aged 30 years or above
  • you must not have previously had a positive COVID-19 PCR, lateral flow or saliva test
  • you must also have received a third dose booster of Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine at least three months ago.

You can learn more and find out if you are eligible to take part by visiting the study’s pre-screening questionnaire.
